Police sought the public’s help Tuesday in tracking down a driver who did not stop after hitting and severely injuring a man on a bicycle in the Pico-Union area west of downtown Los Angeles.

A man in his 30s was struck at about 2:25 a.m. on June 21 in the area of Venice Boulevard and Burlington Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators say a dark gray-colored vehicle was traveling west on Venice when it veered into oncoming traffic lanes and struck the victim, who was on his bicycle in the eastbound lanes, east of Burlington Avenue.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital.

Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3713 to speak with Officer Herrera. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or at lacrimestoppers.org.
