Rapper Lucki has been sued for nearly $185,000 by Blueprint Productions LLC for allegedly being late on payments for various services, including the manufacturing of tees, hoodies and shorts that generated more than $850,000 in tour sales.
The company’s Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit against the singer, whose real name is Lucki Camel Jr., alleges breach of contract and unjust enrichment and Blueprint seeks just under $182,000 in damages. A representative for Camel could not be immediately reached for comment on the suit filed Monday.
According to Blueprint’s complaint, Camel’s personal manager at the time contacted the company in July 2024 about providing services. In addition to the manufacturing of the tour clothing, other provisions included the transfer of the merchandise to the various venues.
From July to September 2024, Blueprint manufactured, financed and delivered merchandise for tour dates in such cities as Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Phoenix, Anaheim, San Francisco and Las Vegas, according to the suit.
Camel’s manager placed each order on the rapper’s behalf, specifying the products, sizes and quantities to be delivered to each venue, according to the suit, which further states that Camel accepted every shipment without any complaints.
Blueprint believes that the tour’s gross merchandise sales exceeded $859,000.00, the suit states. But after Camel made the first two payments, he failed to make the last five, the suit alleges.
Blueprint is a small production company that extended its own credit to finance the Lucki tour’s merchandise program and Camel’s alleged failure to pay all money owed left the firm unable to satisfy its own obligations to its suppliers on net payment terms, resulting in the loss of supplier relationships and credit and a curtailment of business, the suit further alleges.
Camel, 30, began rapping during his first year of high school after encouragement from friends and he initially performed under the name Lucki Eck$.
It’s surprising to see Lucki facing such significant legal issues over alleged payment delays, especially after generating substantial sales from merchandise. A breach of contract can have serious implications not just legally but also for his reputation. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds in court.
