Police in Gardena Thursday were investigating a fatal crash that took the life a pedestrian.
Officers responded about 7:55 a.m. Wednesday to 13200 block of Western Avenue and found an unconscious male in the road, according to the Gardena Police Department.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded, treated the pedestrian and took him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His name was withheld pending family notification.
“The driver of the vehicle was not injured and cooperated with the investigation,” said Gardena police traffic bureau Lt. Matt Hassoldt.
