A man was wounded in a shooting near a grocery store in Costa Mesa Tuesday, and police tracked a suspect to a nearby location and were working to take him into custody.
The shooting occurred about 7:35 a.m. near a Stater Bros. store at 2180 Newport Blvd., according to Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
The victim was rushed to a hospital and was expected to survive, Fyad said.
Police later tracked the suspect to the 2400 block of Newport Boulevard and were working to apprehend him just before 2:30 p.m., Fyad said.
