County officials Thursday identified a 19-year-old man who was found fatally shot inside a car in Compton.
The death of William Leapart was reported at 9:58 p.m. last Thursday in the 14000 block of South Stanford Avenue at Santa Rita Street, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
Leapart was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
Suspect information has not been released.
Video from the scene showed deputies investigating near a white sedan that had crashed into a utility pole across from Roy Campanella Park. A portion of the park was included in the crime scene.
