A 70-year-old man who was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash into a tree in the Griffith Park area was identified by county authorities Thursday.
Bijan Yousefian of Beverly Hills died at the scene of the crash at roughly 2:30 a.m. last Thursday on Forest Lawn Drive near Mount Sinai Drive, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, which listed his cause of death as traumatic injuries and thermal burns.
Video from the scene showed fire crews dousing the flames, which briefly spread to the tree.
Yousefian was unable to escape the vehicle.
No other injuries were reported.
It was unclear what caused him to crash.
