A fire that erupted Monday in a Lake Elsinore mobile home park destroyed a single-wide trailer and extended into surrounding vegetation before it was stopped.
The blaze was reported at 3:20 p.m. Monday in the Pepper Tree RV Park near the intersection of Palomar and Stoneman streets, at the southwest end of the lake, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews and truck companies were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the mobile home.
Vegetation immediately surrounding the property also caught fire, but that was quickly knocked down, according to reports from the scene.
By 3:40 p.m., crews had established hose lays around the structure, nearly containing the blaze.
There was no word on whether the RV was occupied.
The cause of the fire also wasn’t immediately known.
