A 57-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles was publicly identified Monday.
The collision occurred about 8:35 p.m. Friday at Duarte and 55th streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A white Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north at the intersection when it struck the pedestrian, who was later identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Aubrey Player. His place of residence was not immediately available.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Player dead, authorities said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the LAPD.
Video from the scene showed a body covered by a white tarp in the roadway as officers investigated the collision.
