Sheriff’s officials Monday asked the public to be on the lookout for a 20-year-old man with a medical condition who went missing in Hermosa Beach.
Fabia Fernandez is considered at-risk because he suffers from encephalitis and requires medication, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Fernandez was last seen about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Pier Avenue, officials said.
The young man is Hispanic, 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair, brown eyes and a scar on his right eyebrow.
Encephalitis is an inflammation affecting the brain that can cause confusion and seizures, among other symptoms, and can even be fatal.
