A man was found dead by authorities Tuesday near state Route 111 in Whitewater.
Officers responded to a call of a pedestrian down at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday on SR 111 near Interstate 10, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said arriving officers found a deceased man in the “desert area and not on the highway.”
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the death.
No further details were immediately available.
