A Calimesa man who vanished Wednesday with his two sons under suspicious circumstances was the subject of a region-wide search.
Cesar Contreras, 32, was last seen at 7 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Bryant Street and East Avenue L in Calimesa, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued an “Endangered Missing Advisory” on behalf of sheriff’s investigators, requesting that all law enforcement agencies in the region be on alert for Contreras and the boys, 10-year-old Christopher Contreras German and 4-year-old Elias Contreras.
An Endangered Missing notification generally means there are concerns that a disappearance has criminal implications. No other details were immediately available.
Contreras may have been driving a white 2014 Ford Explorer with California license plate 7BXS712, according to the CHP.
He was described as 5-foot-7 and 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Pictures show him wearing prescription eyeglasses.
Christopher is unknown height and weight with black hair and brown eyes. Elias has the same coloring, also with no verified height and weight. Authorities additionally were uncertain of what any of the parties may have been wearing Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information was asked to call 911 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
