A 19-year-old Anaheim man has been arrested for allegedly driving recklessly and causing an accident that seriously injured another motorist in Los Angeles earlier this year, authorities said Wednesday.

The accident took place April 19 on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near La Brea Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash injured another driver, who sustained unspecified severe injuries, authorities said. CHP officers assigned to the Southern Division Major Crimes Unit located Noor El Deen Amr Sorar on Tuesday and arrested him on suspicion of reckless driving causing major injuries.

“This incident is another reminder that reckless driving is not only dangerous, but it can also have devastating and life-changing consequences,” CHP Central Los Angeles Capt. Matin Geller said.

Bail information on Sorar was not immediately available.
