A 46-year-old man killed in a stabbing in the Westlake district that left five others injured was identified Thursday.
Of the five hospitalized, two were suffering from stab wounds after a fight among unhoused individuals around 6:38 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and Westmoreland Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department service representative Manasporn Khampisiri told City News Service.
There was no further information available on the status of the other five victims.
The deceased victim was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Shaundel Davis, who sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest.
One male suspect fled the scene and there is the possibility of other suspects, according to the LAPD.
The fight involved poles in addition to knives, the spokesperson said.
