A robbery suspect who led police on a pursuit in Valley Glen Friday before stopping and fleeing on foot prompted a perimeter search in a residential area.
The brief chase began in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division around 9:55 a.m. Friday and ended a short time later near Welby Way and Goodland Avenue, close to Vanowen Street, where the suspect stopped the banged-up green- or blue-colored Ford Mustang he was driving and fled on foot, police said.
A perimeter search was initiated and people in the area were advised to shelter in place while it remained underway, according to the LAPD.
It was unclear if the suspect was believed to be armed.
