Two suspects were caught in Los Angeles Monday following at least three similar armed robberies at 7-Eleven convenience stores in Temple City, Alhambra and Rosemead and a pursuit to Los Angeles.
The first robbery occurred at 10:40 p.m. Sunday at the 7-Eleven at Temple City Boulevard and Lower Azusa Road, Lt. B. Lemus of the Temple Sheriff’s Station told City News Service.
Suspects described as two males wearing masks in dark clothes came into the store, one simulated having a handgun and they left with cash in a silver SUV, Lemus said.
The second robbery occurred at 11:29 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 512 S. Chapel Avenue, at East Mission Road, in Alhambra, according to Alhambra Police Department Sgt. M. Vega.
The narrative was similar, with two suspects wearing masks simulating a firearm and taking cash before fleeing in a silver SUV, Vega said.
The third occurred at about 11:40 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 3366 San Gabriel Boulevard, near Hellman Avenue, in Rosemead, Lemus said. The scenario and vehicle were similar.
Just before 12 a.m. Monday, in Alhambra, a vehicle matching the suspects’ SUV “hit on a Flock camera,” Vega said.
Officers located the SUV and began a pursuit that was eventually handed over to the California Highway Patrol, which followed the vehicle into Los Angeles where the suspects were taken into custody. The suspects were described as a male and female, Vega said, which differed from the other descriptions but he noted details were still being sorted out.
