Four people including two children were rescued from a sinking boat after the vessel collided with rocks near the Los Angeles port complex, authorities said Tuesday.

Officers assigned to the Los Angeles Port Police Marine Unit responded around 4:30 p.m. Monday to Pier 400, where they found the capsized vessel, a 30-foot powerboat that appeared to have crashed into rocks.

Three fire boats from the Los Angeles Fire Department, along with Baywatch Cabrillo and Marine 30, arrived to assist with the rescue operation.

All four passengers on board safely disembarked and were evaluated and found to have no injuries, authorities said.
