A 23-year-old man who was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Long Beach died from his injuries two weeks after the crash, police announced Wednesday.
The driver, later identified as Alejandro Munoz of Los Angeles, was injured at about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 at the intersection of Hayes Avenue and Anaheim Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Munoz was driving a 2017 Cadillac CTS and made a U-turn near the intersection when the vehicle collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck headed east on Anaheim Street, police said.
The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation and police do not believe that impaired or distracted driving were factors in the crash.
Police were notified on Friday that Munoz had died of his injuries.
