A search was underway Friday for a missing 14-year-old Native American girl from Murrieta.
Brooklyn Salvesen was last seen on Sept. 1 at 1:40 p.m. in the area of Nighthawk Way and Washington Avenue in Murrieta, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued a Feather Alert Friday on behalf of the Murrieta Police Department. Alerts with the Feather designation are activated when a missing party is indigenous, though Brooklyn’s tribal affiliation was not specified.
Brooklyn is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black shoes. The teen was reportedly on foot when she left home, according to the CHP.
No other details were immediately available.
Anyone with information was asked to call 911, or the nearest law enforcement agency.
