A driver was in custody Friday after leading authorities on a vehicle pursuit that lasted almost two hours and snaked through Orange and Los Angeles counties.
Law enforcement authorities pursued the driver of a grey Chevy pickup truck on suspicion of driving under the influence beginning around 12:55 a.m. on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway, just north of the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway interchange, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
The driver was ultimately taken into custody around 2:51 a.m. outside a Chevron station near the intersection of Alameda and Nadeau streets in the unincorporated community of Florence-Graham, according to the CHP.
The CHP took over the pursuit from an Orange County law enforcement agency, the agency said.
No description of the suspect was immediately available.
