Sheriff’s investigators Friday appealed to the public for tips regarding the unsolved homicide of a 36-year-old man who was gunned down at a Pico Rivera gas station more than a year ago.

Marc Sweet died at a hospital after being shot about 8:55 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2025, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to an emergency call at a gas station in the 9400 block of Washington Boulevard and found Sweet mortally wounded.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 32 and 35 years of age, 5-feet-7 or 5-feet-8 inches tall and roughly 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-gray shirt, black shorts, black-and-white Nike athletic shoes and was carrying a small cross-body bag.

There is a $40,000 reward offered by the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors and the city of Pico Rivera for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect description or saw someone matching it near the scene of the shooting was urged to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
