Four people were arrested for various suspected offenses during a weekend DUI checkpoint in Palm Springs, officials said.

The checkpoint was held from 8 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. the following day at East Tahquitz Canyon Way and South Hermosa Drive, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Out of 320 vehicles contacted, two drivers were arrested on suspicion of a DUI, a person was arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges and an additional driver was arrested for allegedly driving on a suspended license, police said.

The checkpoint location was determined on impaired driving-related crashes data.

Palm Springs police said another DUI checkpoint will be held on Sept. 18.

Funding was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
