One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley that caused one of the vehicles to overturn and the affected roadway was reopened Tuesday.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 10:41 p.m. Monday on the southbound Golden State Freeway at Sunland Boulevard.
A witness told the CHP a black sedan swerved across lanes, hit the center divider and overturned.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
A Sigalert was issued at 11:21 p.m. shutting down the HOV and lanes 1, 2 and 3 so officers could investigate the fatal crash and the vehicles could be cleared from the scene. It was cancelled just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
