A 43-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison for sexually assaulting two girls he was related to in Anaheim.
On the eve of his trial starting, Didier Visosmunoz pleaded guilty Tuesday to continuous sexual abuse of a child and a count of lewd or lascivious act with a minor younger than 14, both felonies. Eight other sexual assault felony charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.
The victims came forward two years ago when they were 16 and 19.
One of the girls said Visosmunoz started sexually assaulting her when she was 7 years old, police said in the defendant’s preliminary hearing. He told her not to tell anyone or the both of them would get in trouble, police said.
The girl said she was sexually assaulted three times a week when her mother worked an overnight shift at a hospital, police said. The assaults continued until she was in high school, police said.
The other victim said she was first assaulted when she was 8 or 9 years old and that she was assaulted again when she was 11, police said.
Visosmunoz has 778 days credit behind bars. Orange County Superior Court Judge Gary Paer ordered the defendant to register as a sex offender.
