A 58-year-man struck and killed by a vehicle at a freeway entrance in Marina Del Rey was identified Wednesday.
The pedestrian was struck around 9:58 p.m. Tuesday on Lincoln Boulevard at the Marina (90) Freeway eastbound entrance, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on Lincoln Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian who was walking in traffic lane 3, according to the LAPD.
The impact of the crash propelled the pedestrian in the southwest direction, causing him to hit the roadway and die from blunt force trauma, the LAPD said.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead, the LAPD said.
He was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Rance Turner.
The victim was not homeless, according to the LAPD.
Video from the scene showed the victim lying on the street with a medical examiner tent erected above him.
