A 70-year-old man was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for molesting a girl he was related to over a four-year period in Huntington Beach.
Phillip Geoffrey Demun was convicted July 8 of one count of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, but jurors deadlocked on three other felony counts of lewd acts. Demun pleaded guilty to those charges on Friday.
Demun, who was ordered to register as a sex offender, was given credit for 86 days behind bars.
In May 2019, the victim came forward to police when she was 28 years old, according to police. The victim said Demun molested her first in a pool when she was 11 years old and said there was another time he molested her in a garage that was converted to a den, according to police.
