Two people were arrested during a DUI checkpoint in Temecula on suspicion of driving under the influence, authorities announced Saturday.
The checkpoint was conducted near the intersection of Rancho California and Margarita roads from 7 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.
A total of 820 vehicles were contacted, and eight drivers were cited for allegedly operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
