One person was killed and two others injured early Monday in a two-vehicle crash that involved a rollover on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Chatsworth.

The collision was reported at 1:27 a.m. Monday on the westbound freeway at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. First responders arrived to find a two-vehicle traffic accident with one vehicle rolled over and three people who required medical evaluation.

One of the victims died at the scene, the department reported. The California Highway Patrol began shutting down lanes west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard on the freeway. Only the carpool lane remained open as the morning commute got underway, with four lanes closed and a Sigalert in effect.

Westbound traffic was backed up to Porter Ranch Drive until about 9:15 a.m., when all lanes were reopened and the Sigalert was canceled.
