The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department continued their investigation Tuesday into a decomposing body found in a South El Monte water channel.
An unidentified man’s body was found in the Rio Hondo Channel near the Rush Street cross around 1:30 p.m. Monday, the sheriff’s department said.
An investigator from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office noted signs of blunt force trauma to the body, according to the sheriff’s department. The body was also showing signs of the beginning stages of decomposition.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The death is under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
