An SUV slammed into the side of a Metro bus in Chatsworth Tuesday, sending multiple people to hospitals with varying injuries and possibly killing two.
The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. in the 20900 block of West Nordhoff Street in Chatsworth, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Video from the scene showed firefighters tending to multiple patients, and frantically working to free a woman who was trapped inside the bus. She was eventually freed and quickly loaded into an ambulance in unknown condition with what crews on scene described as “crushing” injuries.
Reports from the scene indicated that at least two people died at the scene, but LAFD officials did not have an immediate accounting of fatalities and injuries.
A large number of ambulances and fire engines responded to the scene.
It was unclear what caused the crash.
