A traffic collision where one pedestrian was struck and killed was under investigation Thursday.
One man was struck and killed by a vehicle around 11:18 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue P in Palmdale, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said.
A passerby reported the incident to authorities, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Details on whether the driver fled or remained on the scene were not immediately available.
Sheriff’s deputies were still investigating the scene as of 3:50 a.m., the sheriff’s department said.
The Sierra Highway was shutdown north of Rancho Vista Blvd. and south of Avenue O-8.
