Five people were arrested in Cathedral City during the second of two high-visibility enforcement operations this weekend, authorities said Sunday.

The operation was conducted from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday throughout the city, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

Saturday’s arrests involved weapon offenses and three handguns were recovered, police announced. Additionally, 35 citations were issued and nine vehicles were stored or impounded, police said.

The CCPD also conducted a high-visibility enforcement on Friday between the same hours. In that one, 15 people were arrested, three for alleged weapons violations, and three handguns were recovered. Additionally, 42 citations were issued and five vehicles were stored or impounded Friday, police said.
