Authorities Monday released the name of a 28-year-old man who was killed in a shooting in Granada Hills that also left another man wounded.
Both victims were shot about 1:50 a.m. Sept. 13 while seated in a parked vehicle in the area of Ludlow Street and Yarmouth Avenue, just south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers dispatched to the location in response to an “ambulance shooting” call located Rafael Rios seated in the front passenger seat.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
The other victim, a man about 25 years old, was in the driver’s seat. He was taken to a hospital, where he had stable vital signs, police said.
“A third individual, also seated inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting, was questioned and released,” according to a police statement.
Police said a suspect approached on foot, fired multiple shots and then fled the scene.
No suspect description was made available.
