A 27-year-old man killed when his car crashed into a tree on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in East Los Angeles was identified Monday.
The crash occurred about 9:35 p.m. Sunday near the Downey Road off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene.
He was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Juan Carlos Bolanos Hilario.
The victim appeared to have been the sole occupant of the car as no other injuries were reported.
The crash and emergency response temporarily closed all eastbound lanes, but they were soon reopened.
The Downey Road off-ramp remained closed, however, until about 1:40 a.m. Monday, and an associated SigAlert was canceled.
