A Waymo autonomous vehicle with at least one passenger inside was struck in the Pico-Union area near downtown Los Angeles by a vehicle whose driver did not stop as required.
The crash was reported about 2:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Union Avenue, according to a report from the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel evaluated one person at the scene, but no one required a trip to a hospital.
The vehicle that struck the Waymo car was later found abandoned about five blocks from the crash scene, near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street.
