A 46-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting a 31-year-old woman in Long Beach in early September was taken into custody Tuesday.
Cedric Frank Barnes was arrested Tuesday in the 600 block of Sunrise Boulevard, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Barnes was booked on suspicion of murder and had bail set at $2 million.
Officers initially responded around 5:20 a.m. Sept. 7 to the 1900 block of Long Beach Boulevard to reports of shots fired, police said.
The victim, identified as Madison Coldiron, who was believed to be homeless, was located by the responding officers. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said.
Details about what led up to the shooting remain under investigation.
