Police sought the public’s help Thursday in locating a hit-and-run driver who injured two pedestrians, one critically, in Venice.
The pedestrians, who were crossing Venice Boulevard northbound at Abbot Kinney Boulevard, were struck around 9:10 a.m. Sept. 5, by an eastbound 2006-2015 white Lexus SUV 470 GX with a lift kit and monster tires, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver, described only as a man in his late 20s wearing a white T-shirt and brown pants, briefly stopped and exited the vehicle, but then got back inside and drove away eastbound on Venice, police said.
Both victims were taken to a hospital.
“Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” police said in a statement.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
