An 88-year-old at-risk man who was last seen in Encino was reported missing, authorities said Tuesday.

Angel Leija was last seen around 6:10 p.m. in Encino and is believed to be on foot, according to California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department in Los Angeles County.

Leija was described as a 5-foot-7-inch tall man, weighing 150 pounds, who has grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid grey and white shirt, grey pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
