A man and a woman, both 19, were taken into custody in connection with a shooting that injured a 38-year-old man in Long Beach, police announced Tuesday.
Officers responded around 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 20 to the 200 block of Pine Avenue regarding shots fired, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The shooting followed a dispute between the victim and the male suspect, who then produced a firearm and shot the victim, police said.
The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his upper body and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Detectives with the LBPD’s gang detail identified the male suspect and the female suspect who aided in the escape using security camera footage, police said.
A search warrant was executed Monday by detectives and SWAT personnel in the 700 block of Pine Avenue, where they arrested both suspects.
The suspects were later identified as Jahvanni Jaquawn Jordan and Rakyia Janiece Harris, both residents of Long Beach. Jordan was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, while Harris was booked on suspicion of accessory after the fact.
Both were held on $1 million bail.
