A brush fire that erupted Wednesday in Good Hope scorched nearly two acres before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Aloha Road and San Jacinto Avenue, about two miles west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium vegetation, in the immediate vicinity of several residences.
There was initial concern that late-afternoon winds might accelerate the brusher’s progress, but paved and dirt roads provided natural fire breaks, enabling crews to halt the fire’s forward rate of spread by 4:25 p.m., according to reports from the scene.
Full containment was expected before 5:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
