Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives were continuing a search Wednesday at a remote Lancaster property where the remains of two people were found during a missing persons investigation.
Sheriff’s investigators responded Tuesday to the area of 50th Street East and Avenue F. Video from the scene showed a property with dilapidated structures and the remnants of a greenhouse, along with several K-9 teams investigating the area, using cadaver dogs to search the location.
Sheriff’s officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the remains of two people had been found at the location, but no details were provided about the condition or the remains or how long they may have been at the site.
On Wednesday, investigators were searching additional areas of the property near the location where the remains were found. There was no immediate update on the status of the investigation.
Sheriff’s officials said a homicide investigation was underway, but no other details were released.
