A collision involving a tractor-trailer killed a woman and a dog who were walking in Wilmington Wednesday.

A vehicle struck a woman and a dog around 2:09 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of the Pacific Coast Highway and Alameda Street, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

However, LAPD could not confirm any fatalities, but said animal rescue services were requested to the scene.

ABC7 reported that one woman and one dog died in the collision.

A witness to the collision said that one man was taken into custody by police.

The LAPD did not confirm the woman’s death or that anyone was taken into custody.
