Four firefighters were injured Wednesday battling a house fire in the Franklin Hills area near the Silver Lake Reservoir that also left one other person injured.
The fire was reported at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of North Lakewood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Arriving firefighters found flames showing from a single-family home and received reports of a possible gas leak, the LAFD said. Crews attacked the fire from inside the structure and quickly extinguished the flames.
Authorities initially reported that a nail had pierced a Freon line, but the LAFD said the cause of the fire and the injuries had not been confirmed.
Three patients had been taken to hospitals and a fourth was expected to be transported, according to the department.
The conditions of the injured people were not immediately available.
Arson investigators were sent to the scene, fire officials said.
