Four firefighters and a civilian were injured in a house fire near the Silver Lake Reservoir Wednesday.
The fire was reported at 10:48 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of North Lakewood Avenue, according to Jamie Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Arriving firefighters found flames showing from a single-family home and received reports of a possible gas leak, Stewart said. Crews attacked the fire from inside the structure and quickly extinguished the flames.
Authorities initially reported that a nail had pierced a Freon line, but Stewart said the cause of the fire and the injuries had not been confirmed.
Two of the hospitalized firefighters had been released as of Wednesday night, according to the department.
Arson investigators were sent to the scene, Stewart said.
