A 42-year-old parolee was behind bars Wednesday on a parole violation and faces accusations that he molested a relative multiple times in Santa Ana.

Alejandro Navarrete Mendoza was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in 2018, but after bailing out, the victim told police he texted and called the girl, according to court documents.

When authorities called Mendoza he said he would report to his parole officer but never did, according to court records.

A relative came forward to police Aug. 30, 2019, to report that Mendoza had molested a 15-year-old female relative for about six months, according to court records.

A former roommate of Mendoza’s told police that the parolee fled to Mexico, according to the records.

Santa Ana police reported that Mendoza was arrested by authorities attempting to cross the border last week. He was booked on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and assault with intent to rape and kidnapping, according to police.

Mendoza pleaded guilty to assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury in January 2014 and was sentenced to four years in prison.
