A fire burning near the Golden State (5) Freeway south of Gorman prompted the closure of both directions of the freeway through the Grapevine Thursday.
The Danny Fire was burning north of Smokey Bear Road and was estimated at approximately five acres, according to reports from the scene.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down.
The cause of the fire and whether any structures were threatened were not immediately known.
