A utility pole fire caused power outages in Pomona Friday evening.

A small fire broke out around 8:53 p.m. Friday on the 400 block of East Mission Boulevard, causing power outages at surrounding businesses and residences, a Pomona Police Department spokesperson said.

Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department extinguished the flame shortly after it started, police said. Personnel from Southern California Edison responded and restored power to most of the customers who had experienced outages.

No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Southern California Edison personnel were still on scene as of 10:45 p.m. and working to fully restore power, according to officials.
