Firefighters stopped forward progress of a brush fire in Brentwood Wednesday that was near the Department of Veterans Affairs’ West Los Angeles Campus.
A fire burned 1.5 acres of dense brush around 2:48 a.m. Wednesday around 4 Bonsall Ave., near the northwest corner of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ West Los Angeles Campus, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire burned for one hour before crews, with the help of an LAFD air deployment, stopped forward progress, the fire department said.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews are expected to be on scene for an extended period of time to conduct mop up and containment operations, LAFD said.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternative routes.
Video from the scene shows LAFD aircraft releasing water onto the brush fire as firefighters work to extinguish the flames.
