A fight among youths in Burbank led to one boy being stabbed in an arm and a teenager under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, police said Friday.
Officers were sent about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to the area of Magnolia and San Fernando boulevards, near the Burbank Town Center, to investigate a report of fight involving several kids, with one of them getting stabbed, according to Burbank Police Department Lt. Brent Fekety.
“Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene near the Burbank Town Center,” Fekety said in a statement. “The involved individuals had left the area before officers arrived.”
Officers found a male juvenile with a stab wound to his arm a short time later. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
“Investigators identified a 17-year-old Burbank resident as the suspect” and arrested him around about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and booked him on suspicion of attempted murder, Fekety said.
It was unclear what prompted the fight.
The case has been submitted to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of formal charges.
