A 48-year-old man was charged Wednesday with killing his parents in Westminster.
Benjamin Thai Hoang of Westminster was charged with two counts of murder with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. He was also charged with a felony count of cruelty to animals for killing a dog, according to the complaint.
Hoang’s arraignment on Wednesday was rescheduled for Thursday so his attorney could have time to speak with him first.
He is accused of killing 74-year-old Quy Thi Nguyen and 80-year-old Dieu Van Hoang Monday evening.
Police were sent to a home in the 13500 block of Sutter Drive at 5:52 p.m. Monday after a caller said he had killed someone.
Hoang had blood on his hands when officers arrived, police said. The victims appeared to have been stabbed multiple times and were pronounced dead at the scene.
A family dog was also apparently stabbed to death, police said.
