A pedestrian was killed in San Pedro early Wednesday when they were struck by a vehicle whose driver failed to stop.
The crash occurred at 1:31 a.m. at West Channel and Gaffey streets, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
The driver failed to stop at the scene as required by law and continued southbound on Gaffey Street, Cervantes said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. That individual’s name and age were not immediately available.
Police did not release a description of the vehicle, but according to KTLA, investigators believe it was towing a white trailer.
